Easton Corbin’s self-titled debut album is slated for release March 2nd on Mercury Nashville. Recognized for his unapologetically country sound and baritone drawl, he already has a Top 20 hit to his name with introductory single “A Little More Country Than That” which debuted in August. “This song identifies who I am,” the Trenton, Florida native says. “It shows character and that’s important where I’m from. You learn to say ‘yes, ma’am’ and ‘no, sir,’ and to open the door for the ladies.” Like his heroes Keith Whitley, George Jones and Merle Haggard, Easton stands for songs that are rooted in the present, but call to mind simpler times. He wrote four of the eleven tracks and is produced by Carson Chamberlain (Billy Currington). People magazine named the newcomer to their “Buzz-Worthy” artist list last fall and featured “The Way Love Looks”, a track co-penned by Easton, in their “Hot Songs” section. Continuing to make the radio rounds, this week Easton will perform in North Carolina, entertain at a St. Jude’s event in Maryland and make two stops in his home state of Florida. The remainder of the month rounds out with visits for stations in Tennessee, Wisconsin, Iowa and Virginia. Growing up Easton spent much of his time on his grandparent’s cattle farm and as an active member of FFA and 4-H. He began taking guitar lessons at age 15 and would practice every day for hours when he got home from school, sometimes until his fingers were raw, which paid off when he landed the lead guitar spot in a local band. After earning a business degree through the College of Agriculture at the University of Florida, he married and moved to Music City. Shortly after, Mercury Nashville signed him and he quit his job at Ace Hardware to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a country star. Even as a child, he was preparing for this career:
